Carita E. Backman, Certified Prosthetist
Carita
received her degree in orthotics and prosthetics from Helsinki IV College
for Health Care Professionals in her native Finland in 1993. She is
certified as a prosthetist by both the American Board of Certification in
Orthotics and Prosthetics and in Finland and the European Community. Carita
is also a Certified Mastectomy fitter and holds a certificate in physical
therapy.
Carita
has worked as a prosthetist and orthotist in North Carolina and San
Francisco as well as managing practices in the Denver Metro area, and has
served as a teaching consultant for Ossur, the worldwide leader in
development of components for prosthetic limbs. She opened the Lakewood
office of OPS in 2003. Carita combines her extensive clinical experience
with strong communication skills to provide caring, quality care to new
amputees as well as long-time users of prostheses. |
